Just before the Zambia Women’s National Soccer Team headed out of the country to prepare for the FIFA Women’s World Cup set to be hosted in Australia and New Zealand, Jewel of Africa with Woodland Stadium management, Forli Limited and the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) collaborated to stage a special international friendly sendoff match against Tanzania.

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup bound Zambia gave fans a befitting send-off as they headed to Germany the same week for their international camp.

Substitute, Comfort Selemani netted the only goal of the match in the 69th minute to give the Copper Queens a much-needed morale boosting victory.

The match was played at Woodlands Stadium, on Sunday, 11 June, 2023.
