Jewel of Africa Soccer Academy
Jewel of Africa Soccer Academy was founded in 2010 to use sports and social mobilisation to contribute towards the campaign for child delinquency in Zambia. Substance abuse is a public health problem in Chibolya township of Lusaka. JOASA utilises football to promote the rights and interests of orphans and vulnerable children in the compound to shield children between the ages of 8 to 18 from destructive vices such as substance abuse, crime, early marriages, gender based violence and gang related activities.
Jewel of Africa Soccer Academy is a registered affiliate of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Youth League for the following categories:
- Under 15 Boys
- Under 17 Girls and Boys
- Under 19 Boys
Since 2012, Jewel Of Africa has supported the Soccer Academy and its Team Manager, Mr Laban Mwape’s admirable efforts to protect orphans and vulnerable children by paying FAZ registration fees, providing team jerseys, socks, boots & footballs and transport expenses to and from games.
